California Voices for Coverage
Project Director: Anthony Wright
The California Voices for Coverage project seeks to organize and educate consumers around major health reforms at the state level that would remove the barriers — availability, affordability, and administrative complexity — that consumers face in obtaining health insurance coverage. It will also continue to develop the capacity of a statewide advocacy network in the areas of coalition and policy coordination, media advocacy and grassroots outreach to advance expanded healthcare to all residents.
The Health Access Foundation is leading the California Voices for Coverage initiative. Health Access Foundation is a collaboration of more than 200 political and community member organizations representing communities of color, immigrants, people with disabilities, children, seniors, people of faith, labor, and working families with a twenty-year history of coordinating the statewide health care consumer advocacy coalition, working for quality, affordable health care for all.
The California Voices for Coverage coalition is supported by a leadership team of organizations, including:
- AARP California
- ACORN
- Asian Pacific Islander American Health Forum
- CALPIRG Education Fund
- California Immigrant Policy Center
- California Labor Federation
- California Pan-Ethnic Health Network
- California Partnership
